Abstract


LOCAL GOVERNMENTS IN DENMARK AND THE NEW ZEALAND: A GENERAL REVIEW ON REFORM, STRUCTURE AND FINANCIAL SYSTEM

The states of Denmark and New Zealand are geographies with an Anglo-American political tradition, libertarian and local governments. In this respect, local governments have a structure that refers to individual rights and freedoms. In this study, it is aimed to give general information on the structure, reform and financial systems of the finalized local governments as a part of the general reform in public administration especially after 1980s in Denmark and New Zealand. The method of the study was determined as a contextual review based on literature review. As a result, in both states, local governments are financially strong and well-established administrative units that increased their capacity of service and service after the 1980s.
