Abstract


OPİNİONS OF SCHOOL ADMİNİSTRATORS ON MENTORİNG ROLES IN EDUCATION INSPECTOR

The aim of this study is to determine the mentoring role and behavior and the expectations of the managers from the inspectors of the education inspectors during their guidance, inspection, supervision and hands on training processes according to the opinions of school administrators. The study is based on qualitative data. The working group has been working in primary and secondary schools as school administrator in Gaziantep in 2015-2016 academic year. Qualitative data was obtained interviews with the school administrators. The working group was chosen with maximum diversity. Quantitative data was analyzed with content analysis method. Following results were obtained from the study: According to the opinions of the directors of schools, It was revealed that the inspectors did not care enough about school Managers professional development. The managers take the legislative instruments of the inspectors as professional role models. While Inspectors share experiences with managers in case of sample applications, managers expect the inspectors to share their experiences on human relations issues. Managers expect to lead the inspectors to their personal goals, inspectors make recommendations and give guidance to managers about their personal goals. Mentoring can be used as a model by the inspectors at education of school administrators
