Abstract


PRE-SERVİCE TEACHERS' VİEWS ON THE RELATİONSHİP BETWEEN ENVİRONMENTAL SENSİTİVİTY AND ETHİCS

In this study, it is aimed to get the current opinions of 44 pre-service teachers who are continuing their education in basic education department about ”environmental sensitivity and morality relationship. The data of the study were collected by using interview technique which is frequently used in qualitative methodology. Content analysis method was used for data analysis. The data obtained were calculated in terms of frequency and percentage distributions and presented in tables. As a result of the research, they stated that there is a parallel tendency between teacher candidates' tendency towards environmental problems and moral level. In addition, they stated that pre-service teachers have higher tendency towards environmental problems in individuals who have high responsibility and respect for nature. Prospective teachers stated that environmental behaviors of society's own cultural principles were determined. In addition, conscience, usefulness, law, conscious, family tendency, responsibility and freedom are among the expressions that draw attention. Candidates who stated that environmental sensitivity is a moral criterion are listed as the necessity of giving moral education and environmental education in parallel, creating environments for courses in nature, designing activities to create recycling awareness, creating love of nature and activities that will create environmental awareness.
