Abstract


INTENSIVE MASTURBATION OF THE CHILD IN PRESCHOOL PERIOD: CASE ANALYSIS

Masturbation is a result of the desire to touch and discover your own body and normal developmental behavior. It is known that children from a young age play with their genitals when they fall asleep or are stressed. Since it affects the child psychosocially, the causes and process of masturbation should be evaluated well.In this study, a five-year-old girl with intense masturbation was evaluated. The mother could not care much about the child due to low socioeconomic conditions, the child constantly changed the caregiver. The child has intense and more than normal masturbation behavior during the day. It was evaluated by a child development specialist at the hospital. Parents have been trained (taking an active role in the care of the child, playing interactive games that support mother-child relationships; avoiding actions such as anger, warning, violence when the child goes into masturbation). At the end of the study, it was observed that child's masturbation behaviors decreased, and anxiety control was achieved in the parent and child. In the case of intense masturbation, not only is the evaluation of the child sufficient, but it will also be useful for parents to be evaluated and educated.
