Although equal rights between men and women are important in today's societies, there are differences in the approach of men and women to romantic relationships due to their upbringing and physiological structures. Gender differences research in the field of psychology investigates the cognitive and behavioral differences between men and women. It uses experimental cognition tests that take various forms in these studies. The tests focus on possible differences in areas such as IQ spatial reasoning, sense of aggression and brain structure and function, and social and environmental factors where there are differences can be difficult for researchers to assess whether the differences are congenital. Accordingly, gender differences in romantic relationships have been examined in literature.
