Abstract


THE EFFECTS OF DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION OF OFFICE MANAGER AND SECRETARY PROFESSION

Until twenty years ago, technological advances were not as rapid as today. The qualifications, knowledge and professional competencies of a person who started his professional life at the end of his education life were valid until he retired. With the Digital Transformation (Industry 4.0) in recent years, due to the rapid advancement of technology, employees have had to keep their knowledge up-to-date and renew their professional competencies with digital applications. It is clearly predicted that the need for a more qualified manpower will increase, as the use of smart machines and applications that emerged with digital transformation will cause employment loss and increase the unemployment rate. According to the latest researches, it shows that office manager and secretarial professions are among the professions that will disappear in the near future as a result of this rapidly changing and developing technology. In this study, professional digital applications, artificial intelligence and robotic systems etc. actively used in this field by taking into account the potential effects of digital transformation on office manager and secretariat profession were evaluated. In this work, it is emphasized that in the near future, it is necessary to remain active in these professions, not only to keep the professional knowledge of the person up to date, and also to follow the technological developments and applications in information and communication technologies systems.
