Abstract
Bu araştırmanın amacı dahilinde; 20. yüzyıl batı sanatında görülen farklı biçimler, sanatsal eylemler, oluşumlarla sentezlenmiş olan Joseph Kosuth’ un “Bir ve Üç Sandalye” adlı eserinin çözümlenmesine yer verilmiştir. Bu çalışmanın özelinde gerçekleştirilmiş olan dilsel önermelerle birlikte temsilin kavramsal dönüşümü de incelenmiştir. Araştırma içerisinde sanatçının eserleri ve bu eserlerdeki yeni sanat anlayışlarıyla birlikte diğer sanatçılarla etkileşimine örnekler de bulunmaktadır. Bu araştırma çerçevesinde Kosuth’un sıradışı sanat dili kapsamlı olarak incelenip, “Bir ve Üç Sandalye” Eseri temel alınarak sanatsal yaklaşımı yorumlanmıştır. Bunlarla birlikte günümüz sanatındaki yerinin bir değerlendirilmesi yapılmış ve sanatçının içinde bulunduğu dönemin sanata etkisi üzerine yansımalarının neler olduğu sorgulanmaktadır. Bu araştımada, gündelik yaşamda sıradan sayılan ve neredeyse her gün karşımıza çıkan sandalyenin kullanım nesnesi olarak değil de sanat nesnesine dönüştürüldüğüne değinilecektir.

Abstract
With in the scope of this research; The analysis of Joseph Kosuth's "One and Three Chairs", which was synthesized with different forms, artistic acts and formations seen in 20th century western art, is included. The conceptual transformation of representation has also been examined together with the linguistic propositions made specifically for this study. In the research, there are examples of the artist's works and the new understanding of art in these works, as well as his interactions with other artists. Within the framework of this research, Kosuth's extraordinary art language was comprehensively examined and his artistic approach was interpreted based on the "One and Three Chairs" Work. Along with these, an evaluation of his place in contemporary art has been made and the reflections of the artist's period on art are questioned. In this study, it will be mentioned that the chair, which is considered ordinary in daily life and that we come across almost every day, is transformed into an art object rather than an object of use.
