Surveillance, which has existed since the existence of humanity, has changed from the panopticon to the synopticon and omnipticon in its current form in the historical process. Surveillance has expanded its sphere of influence with the development of technological possibilities in the current century. As a result of the increase in accessibility to digital environments, it has become inevitable for users to present their private lives to other people through these platforms in order to be liked and followed more. In the current century, surveillance is more than a tool used by the powers to keep the governed under control, it is in a position that everyone can easily use and where everyone watches everyone. In this way, users have become both observable and observable with their profile pages, photos and articles they share. It is possible to say that surveillance behavior has become a type of social interaction between individuals today. While the individual virtualizes herself/himself in the new public space, she voluntarily gives permission to others to spy on her, and in return she provides psychological satisfaction. While social media is shifting from a medium where communication is at the forefront to a ground where vision and display are prominent, it changes and transforms the habits and privacy perceptions of individuals. As such, we can say that surveillance emerges as a form of existence. In the study, the transformation of the surveillance society from modernism to postmodernism, the new concepts that emerged in the field of surveillance were handled institutionally, and the effect of social media on the transformation of the surveillance phenomenon was tried to be questioned.

In this study, it was aimed to examine the relationship between chess game and simple visual and auditory reaction time. National and international publications were scanned by the researcher and it was found worthy of research with the thought that it would contribute significantly to the literature in terms of not finding a similar study as a result of the scans. 9 male university students playing chess participated in this research voluntarily and the results were recorded. In the study, simple visual and auditory reaction time measurements were made on the same people before the chess game, their averages were recorded, and after a 15-minute chess game was played, simple visual and auditory reaction times were measured again and the data were recorded. The analysis of the data was analyzed by the SPSS package program and the findings were reached. As a result of the findings, it was concluded that the simple visual and auditory reaction times differed significantly between before and after the chess game. It can be suggested to other researchers to examine the relationship between chess game and simple visual and auditory reaction time in detail, taking into account the pulse values and other parameters in this research in the laboratory environment.

Strategies and Assessments of Pop Art in The Context of The Multiple Characteristics of Contemporary Art

When pop concept first appeared in England, it was used to define mass communication in general and visual communication in particular. Its relationship with art has been realized with an expansion from the aesthetic principle of modern art to mass media. Beginning with the collages of Cubism and completely abandoned by the ready-mades of Dada, the unconventional material is based on Pop and mass communication; disciplines such as advertising, color photography and reproduction, films, TV, and automobile design were included in the field of fine arts and included in the art criterion. This criterion, together with Pop's complete control of art, has been a fundamental determinant in revealing the artists' own style and product choices. In line with mass communication and visual communication, Pop iconographic, stylistic and stylistic features formed the technological and economic character of the urban culture of the Western society after the Second World War. This period has revealed a brand new paradigm that is far beyond both the traditional representation paradigm and the modern formalist paradigm, but appropriating their stylistic features for its own purposes. The border between art and life has been completely blurred, fine arts and popular culture have been used in the same sense for the first time. The distinction between high and low culture has been invalidated, and aesthetic theory has been canceled by making a distinction that excludes kits. With an unprecedented democratization in the art world, the possibility of everyone being an artist and everything being art has been opened, and the beautiful place has been left to the popular. Ordinary, deprived of personality and interpretation, cliché and kitsch are placed against the elite cult of the modern artist and modern forms. Pop's determination of this character and mass communication as the basic point of departure has enabled him to determine the entire history of art as a material warehouse, and art has turned into a machine that produces codes that are generally accepted by the society in the provision of mass communication. This went down in history as a stage where art passed from natural to artificial. Ultimately, Pop became a language as a communication system consisting of comics, advertisements, photographs, cinema, etc. as common materials of mass culture. Looking at the general picture, Pop has positioned itself as a tool of the culture industry in order to democratize art through mass communication. As a movement that started with a just rebellion, Pop, institutionalized on the basis of its relationship with the capitalist system, turned into a self-advertisement against the commodity character of the modern aesthetic that it opposes, and created the commodity in its own image. In this study, it is aimed to investigate the other side of the libertarian character of Pop, which expands the definition of art, when it is reconsidered in the conditions of the culture industry.

Ceramic; It appears as a coating element with a traditional material identity, used in architecture for centuries, and whose durability has been tested in the open area. Ceramic material, which is included in the art of wall decoration enriched with various techniques in architecture, went beyond ornamentation and created a special area for functional, cultural and artistic expression. Portugal is an important country in this respect. Ceramic wall tiles called "Azulejo" act as a canvas for individual and collective expression and are positioned in a privileged area in this sense. It is known that azulejos, which were first used in Portuguese churches, monasteries and palaces, were used as floor tiles in the 13th century and as wall coverings from the 16th century. Azulejos, which are widely used in the wall decorations of ordinary houses in Portugal, are striking in their relationship with architecture in the historical and cultural dialogue. Creating impressive visual compositions using azulejos in harmony with architectural features is an important element of Portuguese urban aesthetics. In addition, these coatings form the visual and physical texture of the urban architecture. Azulejos, which vary with the light source, intensity and direction in the area where they are used, also give a dynamic appearance to the city silhouette. In this article, what needs of the society azulejo meets, its historical process and its interaction with other cultural elements in the process will be examined, and what the term azulejo means in this perspective will be emphasized. At the same time, it is aimed to contribute to the understanding of the importance of cultural heritage and to expand its scope by making evaluations on the use of azulejos in architecture within the society-culture relationship.

In recent years, with the evolution of the dominant philosophy from the concept of teaching to learning, attention has increased regarding individual factors in learning. The concept of learning style, as the projections of the philosophy of education, in which individual differences come to the fore, has been frequently given place in current researches. In today's information society, where the uniform understanding of learning has lost its power, it has gained importance to reinterpret and produce information rather than being a user of information. In the same way, being a society that produces knowledge is possible by following the innovations and technological developments in education and applying them in schools. While doing this, we should not forget that each of our students is an individual, unique and special. Teachers have an important role in this regard. Our teachers, who educate future generations, need to know their students well and follow and find out how they learn better in order for the education they provide to be of high quality and permanent. Thus, they can design the learning environment in a way that will enrich their classroom activities and appeal to each individual. This will allow our students to learn knowledge permanently and will support them in being a knowledge producer. The aim of this study is to present examples of unique activities that will appeal to students' different learning styles, to help our teachers who have difficulties in reaching all students in crowded classrooms, to enrich the course content and to contribute to the restructuring of knowledge by increasing the learning quality of our students. In addition to the activities that can set an example for teachers and teacher candidates, the theoretical framework of the learning style has been drawn. The theoretical framework regarding the learning style is presented as a literature review. The study was concluded with conclusions and recommendations.

The Village Institutes are a revolutionary practice of the Anatolian enlightenment that were established to firmly root the Republican revolutions. They are defined by their function of creating and transforming society with a system of education that understands the reality of the Turkish peasantry. The main reasons for this are backwardness and ignorance, and the duty of education should be to overcome ignorance and revive production. In this study, a descriptive analysis of the instructional programs developed by the Village Institutes is performed. Namely, the foundations, philosophies, methods, and principles of the Village Institutes are explored. The characteristics of the instructional initiatives carried out by the Village Institutes have been attempted to be identified. It has been questioned whether the instructional programs practiced in the institutes have a contemporary equivalent or not. In the study, document analysis from qualitative research methods was used. It was noticed that the Village Institutes, as a work/production school, still have a valid model today when adapted to the problems of urban society.

An Evaluation Method and Review of Refik Halid Karay's “Eskici” Short Story

Refik Halid Karay is a talented author who has written quality works in a variety of literary genres, including main novels and short stories with memoirs, essays, and anecdotes. The author gained prominence for both his style and the issues he covered when he first began to publish his works during the time of national literature. He is regarded as one of the best author in using Turkish language because of the vivid descriptions he produced using a relaxed and uncomplicated approach, as well as the complex characters he developed. Before Refik Halid, Turkish literature covered Anatolia and peasant life. However, he made it feasible to represent Anatolia realistically and do away with cartoon narrations.“Memleket Hikâyeleri” and “Gurbet Hikâyeleri” can be shown as the most competent works in this field.
Refik Halid, who travelled to Anatolia during his university years and enjoyed observing life outside of Istanbul, lived in exile in Anatolia between 1913 and 1918, and in Syria between 1922 and 1938. In the final days of his exile from Syria, he authored the short story Eskici. In this short story, he masterfully captured the exile's loneliness and his growing longing for his native land, which was increasing day by day. This striking narration is caused by the author's long and painful experience of homesickness. When an elderly guy and a young hero cross paths in the middle of the desert, the sensation of homesickness in the story manifests as a large bust of despair. “Language”, which is both the subject and the substance of this figure, is what gives it its poignant quality.
One of the biggest problems in literary text analysis is the problem of method. When a critique is poorly stated, it frequently hides rather than reveals the text's complexity and subject. In this article, a model framework for narrative analysis was created, and Eskici short story was then analyzed within it. The author's usage of the tale components was examined, and an attempt was made to elucidate the work's masterful fiction, which did not immediately stand out upon first reading.

Schools, which are the most important elements of the education system, have an important place in the development and development of societies. The most important resource in the survival and development of a society is the people that it raises in accordance with its purposes. The goal of education is determined as the expected changes or behaviors in human behavior. It is inevitable that these changes in the behavior of individuals will affect the whole society.
The quality of education that will be given to children in the first years has a significant impact on their future success, their attitudes towards school, lessons and themselves. In this case, it is possible to say that the people who interact with the child during the preschool and primary school periods, especially the teachers, have a great role in shaping the future of the children and gaining a healthy personality. The teacher can accelerate the development of children with a rich and appropriate environment, or they can also limit and hinder their development by preparing unsuitable environments. In addition, the primary school teacher for the child is even more prominent than his parents. Whatever "he" says is true: whatever he does is good, beautiful. The primary school teacher, who is so exalted in the eyes of the child, is one of the people he modeled the most. For this reason, a primary school teacher is the person who plays a major role in helping the child develop a healthy personality or having a negative personality with his exemplary behaviors in the educational environment.
