The aviation industry has become a prominent contributor to global carbon emissions because of rising passenger demand and heavy reliance on fossil fuels. At the same time, increasing global climate uncertainty has begun to shape environmental regulations, investment priorities, and sustainability-oriented policy frameworks across countries. Under such uncertainty, airline companies may be encouraged to adopt more risk-averse operational practices, improve fuel efficiency, and invest in technologies aimed at reducing emissions. OECD countries offer a suitable empirical context for examining this relationship due to their relatively stringent environmental standards and broader adoption of sustainable transport policies. From an accounting standpoint, sustainability reporting—an increasingly central component of the accounting discipline—has also gained strategic importance for airline firms. This study investigates the impact of global climate uncertainty on airline-related carbon emissions in OECD countries and evaluates this relationship within a sustainability perspective. The analysis covers 30 OECD member states with complete data for the 2013–2024 period. Employing panel data techniques, the study assesses the effect of the global climate uncertainty index on aviation carbon emissions while controlling Gross Domestic Product (GDP), passenger traffic, and jet fuel consumption. The empirical results reveal that both passenger numbers and jet fuel consumption contribute to higher aviation-related carbon emissions. However, in countries characterized by high passenger volumes and intensive jet fuel use, global climate uncertainty appears to mitigate airline-related carbon emissions.

Qualitative research model was preferred as the research model and in this context, phenomenology pattern was used. The study group of the research subsists 125 students of 8th grade studying in 4 secondary schools in Kahramankazan district of Ankara province in the 2021-2022 academic year. Criterion sampling method, one of the purposeful sampling methods, was used to determine the students. As it was aimed at collecting detailed data on the participants' conceptual structures regarding the concepts of "Algebraic Expressions" and "Identities", the free word association test was used. Furthermore, students were asked to make a sentence with those words in their answers. Finally, they were asked to describe the learning difficulties they encountered while learning the topics "Algebraic Expressions" and "Identities". The answers given by 8th grade students to the independent word association test used to determine their cognitive structures regarding the concepts of "Algebraic Expressions" and "Identities" were analyzed by content analysis method, after writing the evocative words related to the concepts of "Algebraic Expressions" and "Identities". The misconceptions in the sentences formed with these words were examined by the content analysis method, and the difficulties encountered in learning the subjects of Algebraic Expressions and Identities were examined by the descriptive analysis method. As a result of the analysis of the data, 13 categories and 151 codes related to the concept of "Algebraic Expressions" and 14 categories, and 165 codes related to the concept of "Identities" were determined. When the results of the students' cognitive structures regarding the concepts of " Algebraic Expressions" and "Identities" are examined; It has been determined that 9 categories are common to the concepts of "Algebraic Expressions" and "Identities". This shows that connections related to these concepts are formed in the students' cognitive structures. It was also determined that 79% of 8th grade students stated that they had problems while learning the subject of Algebraic Expressions- and 75% of them while learning the subject of Identities. Based on the findings obtained at the end of this research, suggestions were made for teachers and researchers, what method to use while teaching these topics.

This study aims to examine the experience of the Zapatista Army of National Liberation (EZLN), which emerged in Latin America, within the framework of the concept of counter-hegemony by addressing Antonio Gramsci’s theory of hegemony in its distinctive position within Western Marxism, together with the structural analyses developed by Dependency Theory. Although social transformation in the Marxist literature has long been discussed primarily in terms of relations of production, class struggles, and the seizure of state power, Gramsci’s theory of hegemony -developed within Western Marxism- has placed the cultural, ideological, and sivil society-oriented superstructural dimensions of political struggle as its center. In this context, hegemony is conceptualized not merely as a form of domination based on coercion and repressive apparatuses, but as a multilayered power relation sustained through the organization of social consent within the sphere of civil society. The study also draws on Dependency Theory’s analyses of structural inequalities based on center-periphery relations in order to explain the historical continuity of underdevelopment in the Latin American context. In line with these two thoretical perspectives, the post-1994 strategies of struggle adopted by the EZLN are examined as a counter-hegemonic practice that does not directly target state power, but is instead shaped around collective ownership and production, grassroots democracy, and experiences of autonomous governance. The central argument of the study is that the EZLN experience demonstrates a strong alignment with Gramsci’s theoretical approach not only at the conceptual level, but also at the institutional and practical levels. In this respect, the study shows that Gramsci’s intellectual legacy remains a valid and effective analytical tool for understanding contemporary social movements.

The written press in Turkey has undergone significant changes with the advent of internet journalism; the local press has not been left out of this change either. The main reasons for the change in the local press are income sources and independence issues, which are among the main problems experienced. Therefore, with the limited capital structure in the local press, local newspapers with paper print started to close down. In this context, the problem statement of the study, which is; ‘Can local printed newspapers do quality, independent journalism by reporting local news and using local advertising and announcement opportunities?’ was answered through a local newspaper research. For this purpose, the Çanakkale Olay newspaper, published between 1987 and 2024, was examined according to different criteria such as news types and topics, number of advertisements and announcements, and the content of the capital structure. Content analysis, which is a systematic, unbiased, numerical and qualitative research method used in the research to measure the variables in a text, was used as a method. In addition, the linguistic approaches in the titles were analyzed using the discourse analysis method.

The research results have shown that local journalism can be done for the public good in a printed newspaper with local news and advertising revenues, as in the Çanakkale Olay newspaper. However, in the competitive environment accelerated by technology, it has been determined that the economic support of the Press Advertisement Institution has gained importance.

This transformation encompasses efforts to ensure the continuity of energy supply and reduce environmental impacts. The geographical distribution of energy resources and the imbalance between consumption centers have made energy transportation and transit routes strategic. In this context, Turkey plays a key role in the energy flow between the Middle East, which holds a significant portion of the world's energy reserves, and the European continent, which is a major energy consumer. Thanks to its geostrategic location at the intersection of east-west and north-south energy corridors, its hosting of international pipeline projects, and its open structure for regional cooperation, Turkey has become an indispensable transit country for the energy supply security of both the European Union and the countries in the region. However, Turkey's energy policy is shaped not only by economic factors but also by political, geopolitical, and diplomatic factors. This study aims to analyze Turkey's geopolitical and strategic importance in the context of energy security. In this framework, it examines the energy policies of the European Union and the Middle East, evaluates the existing transportation methods and routes, as well as unfinished projects, and assesses Turkey's position and function within these dynamics.

The period of youth is a critical transition phase in which individuals restructure their social roles, with university life situated at the center of this process. In this context, the primary aim of this study is to examine university students' perceptions, meaning-making processes, and lived experiences regarding social well-being in depth through a phenomenological approach. The study group consists of 20 university students selected via criterion sampling. Data were collected using a semi-structured interview form and analyzed using the thematic analysis method supported by MAXQDA software.

The findings obtained from the analysis were detailed under four main themes: “Social Environment,” “Social Adjustment,” “Social Participation,” and “Social Competence.” Within the Social Environment theme, it was observed that relationships with family, friends, romantic partners, and faculty members serve as fundamental sources of support and belonging, whereas familial traumas impair well-being. Regarding Social Adjustment, it was determined that the individualistic structure of the university environment fosters insecurity, and future anxiety, combined with the struggles of the transition to adulthood, is a prevalent source of stress. Furthermore, it was found that spiritual values act as a coping mechanism, while gender perceptions and pressures hinder the adjustment process. In the Social Participation theme, participation in civil society, sports, and social activities were found to provide spiritual satisfaction and social networking for youth. Conversely, while social media supports connectedness, it was determined to have a dual effect, leading to feelings of inadequacy in students due to “false self” presentations. Finally, under the Social Competence theme, it was observed that personality traits, health, and body image directly influence socialization processes. As a notable finding of the research, it was determined that attitudes toward substance use function as a tool for “social acceptance,” while non-users face the risk of social exclusion. Revealing the multidimensional structure of social well-being, this research offers holistic recommendations to support the well-being of university youth.

This study aims to examine the integration of augmented reality (AR) technology that currently experiences a rapid advancement into toys. To this end, first, historical evolution of augmented reality technology, its operational principles, and its contemporary applications are reviewed. Furthermore, the influence of such technologies and design-oriented innovations on children's cognitive, social, and emotional development is growing progressively more significant each day. Therefore, during the period of AG technology integration into toys, the expectations, learning preferences, and play behaviors of Generation Alpha, the potential consumers of these toys, were also taken into account. A qualitative research method grounded in user comments and employing a peer review approach was utilized during the analysis process. In this regard, information pertaining to the gameplay processes, visuals, and user experiences of two distinct toys—one supported by augmented reality (Lego Technic AR) and the other focused on entertainment (Mattel Hotwheels)—was gathered through online sharing platforms and e-commerce websites. Using this information, the toys were assessed across criteria including technology accessibility, user interface design, the employed augmented reality technology, intended use, gaming experience, benefits provided, and limitations, in order to comprehensively evaluate the user experience within an integrated framework. Consequently, the preferences of contemporary parents have become the primary influencing factor, and the importance of advancing AR technology in toys and enhancing its affordability has been recognized. Furthermore, it has been noted that these toys are excessively intricate in design for children and may not be embraced even by adults with limited technological proficiency.

The director conveys his messages to the audience through a distinctive cinematic language. In some films, Burton draws upon literary works and folk tales, and while these source texts are not directly reproduced, they are restructured in accordance with the director’s visual style, narrative understanding, and thematic orientations. This study aims to analyze the meaning-making processes in Tim Burton’s films. Utilizing a semiotic approach, the study particularly examines the functionality of Greimas’s agentic model in analyzing film narratives. The sample of this research consists of Burton’s film Corpse Bride, an adaptation inspired by a folk tale he heard in Russia years ago. The film is examined in terms of its level of description, narrative structure, and binary oppositions, analyzing the relationships between the actors, the transformation phases of the narrative, and its deeper layers of meaning according to the Greimas model. In this context, the research goes beyond the film’s surface plot and reveals the emotional and ideological elements that constitute the narrative's core discourse.

Undoubtedly, the most important and effective means of exercising this freedom is the right to apply to the courts. However, the freedom to seek justice, in its simplest sense, means ensuring better and more effective access to justice. In this context, this freedom encompasses not only access to an effective judicial system but also the promotion of access to other dispute resolution methods appropriate to the nature of the dispute. Alternative Dispute Resolution methods are complementary mechanisms developed in contemporary legal systems to counter judicial inefficiency and enable the swift resolution of disputes. These methods aim to enable individuals to access justice quickly and economically by breaking the narrow moulds that limit the freedom to seek justice to mere access to the courtroom.

In line with global developments, courts in our country have also found it increasingly difficult to cope with their growing workload. The increase in the number of lawsuits due to the growing culture of conflict, the complex and slow decision-making mechanisms in the judicial systems of countries, and, particularly in administrative courts, the lack of sufficient willingness on the part of the administration to resolve disputes have contributed to the deepening of this problem. In this context, alternative dispute resolution methods are emerging as effective solutions that complement judicial and administrative justice with their increasingly broad scope of application.

The study examines general and historical information about ADR methods, the effects of their use on individuals and the judicial system, and the impact of making recourse to ADR a prerequisite for litigation in certain disputes on the freedom to seek justice.

A qualitative research method was preferred in this study. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 18 professional chefs working in Gaziantep province. The data obtained were analyzed in terms of themes, codes, and subcodes. Since there are very few studies in the literature that examine the relationship between Gaziantep pistachios and gastronomic identity in detail, this research is expected to make an important contribution to the subject. Additionally, the study evaluates Gaziantep pistachios in the context of gastronomic identity and cultural heritage, shedding light on the development of local gastronomy policies. All participants noted that Gaziantep pistachios are unique in terms of taste, texture, aroma, and quality, and emphasized that they are an indispensable ingredient in baklava, katmer, and local desserts. Additionally, participants made various suggestions for international promotion, such as visual materials, festivals, and collaborations. The importance of Gaziantep pistachios in the regional gastronomic identity was confirmed, and it was concluded that this product plays a fundamental role in and developing gastronomic tourism. It is recommended that future research detail the economic and cultural contributions of Gaziantep pistachios using quantitative methods. Additionally, including pistachios in gastronomy routes will positively contribute to the promotion of the region.

This thesis examined individuals childhood trauma experiences and attachment styles, and investigated the effects of these variables on personality traits and psychopathology. The study sample comprised 491 adults living in Istanbul. Participants completed the Sociodemographic Information Form, Brief Symptom Inventory, Childhood Trauma Questionnaire (CTQ-33), Relationship Scales Questionnaire, and Coolidge Axis II Inventory–Plus Turkish Short Form (CATI+ TR SF). Parametric tests were used to analyze the data. Correlational analyses revealed that psychopathological symptoms were positively and significantly associated with childhood traumas, insecure attachment styles, and various personality traits. In contrast, secure attachment and extraversion were negatively associated with psychopathological symptoms. Childhood traumas were found to be positively related to several personality traits, particularly insecure attachment styles and borderline personality traits. While secure attachment showed negative associations with most personality traits, fearful and preoccupied attachment styles demonstrated positive relationships with both personality traits and psychopathological symptoms. Multiple regression analyses indicated that childhood traumas and attachment styles had significant and distinctive predictive effects on personality traits. Overall, the findings showed that insecure attachment styles were strong and consistent predictors of many personality traits, whereas among childhood trauma types, emotional abuse exhibited more pronounced and widespread effects on personality structure. These results highlight the central role of early relational experiences and attachment patterns in the formation and maintenance of personality traits and demonstrate that early life experiences, attachment styles, and personality structure are closely related to psychological symptoms.

The aim of this study was to develop a Sick Building Syndrome (SBS) scale that addresses the risk factors individuals are exposed to in indoor work environments using a multidimensional approach, thereby contributing to the literature. As part of the study, an integrated model for the SBS process was also developed through a holistic conceptualization. Based on a review of the literature, the study was founded on the premise that SBS cannot be reduced to a single cause but rather constitutes a complex structure resulting from the interaction of physical, hygienic, and psychosocial factors.

The theoretical foundations of the study are based on various theoretical frameworks, including the environmental approach theory, the ergonomic approach theory, the stress and environmental load theory, the psychosocial approach theory, and behavioral and perceptual theories. Within the framework of the research findings, a scale comprising 22 item statements-covering physical, hygienic, and psychosocial factors-was developed for use in studying HBS. It is hoped that the scale developed in this context will fill a significant gap in the literature by providing a comprehensive tool capable of measuring this multidimensional structure.

In conclusion, this study proposes a comprehensive model that redefines the multidimensional nature of Sick Building Syndrome and makes it measurable. In particular, the treatment of hygienic factors as an independent dimension and the integration of psychosocial factors into the model contribute a unique and theoretically grounded perspective to the literature.
