Classroom libraries play a significant role in developing students' reading habits. These environments enhance the quality of educational processes by increasing students' interaction with books. Classroom libraries need to be accessible, diverse, and motivating. Although classroom libraries are widespread in our country, teacher views regarding students' effective use of these resources are limited. Most teachers employ various methods to increase students' reading motivation but encounter difficulties in follow-up and incentive mechanisms. This study was conducted to examine the views of primary teachers regarding primary school students' reading of books from the classroom library. The study group consists of 30 primary teachers selected via random sampling. The descriptive survey model was employed in the research. A semi-structured interview form consisting of four open-ended questions was prepared as the data collection tool. Content analysis was used to analyze the data; themes such as "reading motivation" and "follow-up methods" were determined through open coding. The results of the research revealed that 73.3% of the teachers use manual tools for book tracking, 10% use digital tools, and 23.3% use verbal/interactive methods. Furthermore, 53.3% stated that borrowed books are read and returned, 36.7% stated they are partially read, and 10% stated they are hardly read. Regarding reading motivation, 66.7% of the teachers expressed that it is at a moderate level, 20% at a low level, and 13.3% at a high level. To increase reading motivation, 53.3% indicated that they organize reading activities, 23.3% implement reward systems, 20% collaborate with parents, and 40% use popular books through book introductions.

Producing Knowledge in Vulnerable Contexts: An Analytic Autoethnographic Study in Violence Research

This study examines how a structured research design planned to be conducted with women survivors of violence within the context of forensic social work underwent a methodological transformation when confronted with the realities of the field. The experience of methodological impasse that emerged during an intervention study planned with women undergoing divorce proceedings at a courthouse in Turkey is examined within the framework of Anderson’s (2006) analytic autoethnography approach. The dataset of the study consists of the researcher’s retrospective reflections on field experiences, field notes, and institutional documents related to ethics committee procedures.

Through reflexive evaluation and thematic analysis, the methodological crisis that was initially interpreted as an inability to collect data was found to be associated with broader structural and contextual dynamics rather than an individual failure. The findings indicate that interdisciplinary institutional boundaries, the emotional burden of legal processes, the symbolic influence of the courthouse environment, concerns about child custody, invisible care responsibilities, and the emotional tensions experienced by the researcher directly shaped the process of data production. The interaction of these factors significantly limited the feasibility of the originally planned quantitative research design in the field.

The field experience prompted the researcher to reconsider the initial assumptions underlying the research process and to adopt a more flexible and reflexive research approach that prioritizes participant safety and researcher well-being. In this sense, the study demonstrates that rigid experimental designs may not always align with the realities of research conducted with vulnerable groups. By employing an analytic autoethnographic perspective, this study analyzes the ethical, institutional, and emotional dimensions of knowledge production in violence research and points to the need for context-sensitive and ethically attentive research approaches in social work and the broader social sciences.

While traditional talent management practices primarily rely on experience and intuition-based decision-making, digital transformation emphasizes data-driven decision-making, digital recruitment platforms, AI-powered talent matching tools, and personalized employee experiences. The aim of this study is to identify the general trends in academic research on digital transformation in the field of talent management and to analyze the main themes in the literature using bibliometric methods. Because it covers the current period reflecting the increasingly widespread impact of digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and data analytics applications in human resources and talent management, this study examines research conducted between 2017 and 2026. The distribution of 304 publications obtained from the Web of Science (WoS) database using the keywords “Talent Management”, “Artificial Intelligence”, “Digital Transformation” and “Digital HR” by country, growth trends over time, general research trends, document types, and index distribution were examined. In the bibliometric analysis process, VOSviewer software was used to create maps for network analyses such as co-author analysis, author citation analysis, source citation analysis, country citation analysis, institutional citation analysis, keyword analysis, bibliographic match analysis, and co-citation analysis. The analysis results reveal that the topic of digital transformation in talent management has attracted significant attention in academic circles, particularly in recent years. A general increase in academic publications has been observed since 2017, with the highest number of studies occurring in 2024–2025. The research results show that the majority of publications are articles, primarily concentrated in business and management fields, and that prominent themes include digitalization, artificial intelligence, data analysis, and employee experience. According to country-based analysis results, Australia, Canada, and Croatia are among the leading countries contributing to this field. In conclusion, the topic of digital transformation in talent management has become a significant research area in recent years, attracting interest in academic circles and gaining prominence through its interdisciplinary structure. This study utilizes Web of Science data and VOSviewer-based bibliometric network analyses to reveal research trends in the literature and provides a guiding framework for future empirical and theoretical research.

Geopolitical tensions and economic fragility: The potential impact of a US-Iran-Israel conflict on the Turkish economy

The deepening geopolitical tensions along the US–Iran–Israel axis pose significant risks to regional stability and the macroeconomic balances of neighboring economies. Turkey, situated at the crossroads of Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, is particularly vulnerable to such external shocks due to its structural dependence on energy imports, high current account deficit, and sensitivity to capital flow volatility. This review study analytically examines the probable effects of escalating military and diplomatic crises on the Turkish economy through three transmission channels: energy, financial, and trade-real sector. Drawing on existing literature and secondary data — including oil price movements, Turkey's CDS spreads, and foreign trade statistics — the study develops a scenario-based framework ranging from limited tension to high-intensity regional conflict. Findings indicate that geopolitical tensions transmit economic shocks to Turkey primarily through rising energy costs that fuel cost-push inflation and widen the current account deficit; increasing country risk premiums that trigger capital outflows and exchange rate depreciation; and disruptions to trade routes that suppress export performance and raise logistics costs. Scenario analysis reveals that while limited conflicts produce manageable and temporary effects, prolonged and intensifying confrontations risk generating structural and persistent macroeconomic vulnerabilities. Turkey's geostrategic position carries both risk and opportunity in the face of regional instability. Mitigating economic fragility requires energy source diversification, export market expansion, reduction of structural current account imbalances, and proactive engagement with international financial safety nets.

The study group consisted of 45 fourth-grade primary school students. Of these students, 20 were assigned to the experimental group and 25 to the control group. In the experimental group, dictation, text completion, error correction, rewriting, and classroom-based practical activities aimed at applying spelling rules and using punctuation correctly were carried out using Nasreddin Hodja anecdotes and anecdotes about Atatürk. In the control group, the regular instructional process continued in accordance with the Turkish Language Curriculum. During the data collection process, the Nasreddin Hodja anecdote titled İş Kavuktaysa and the text titled Atatürk’s Love of Trees were used. Students’ spelling and punctuation errors in the pretest and posttest applications were scored separately. The data obtained were analyzed using mixed-design factorial ANOVA. The findings showed that the mean number of errors in the experimental group decreased markedly in both punctuation and spelling. The significant result in favor of the experimental group indicated that practical activities based on Nasreddin Hodja anecdotes and anecdotes about Atatürk were effective in improving students’ spelling and punctuation skills. In conclusion, practical Turkish language activities using texts with strong cultural, historical, and humorous qualities support students’ written expression skills.

Self-talk, emerging as an individual strategy to cope with this burden, is a dynamic mechanism that enables individuals to regulate their internal dialogues and produce behavioral outcomes. As a building block of thought, self-talk occurs in situations involving high-level cognitive tasks such as problem-solving, attention, focus, and planning, and can facilitate problem-solving. However, it has been observed that this concept, which occupies a significant place in the psychology literature, has not yet received the structural attention it deserves in the field of organizational behavior and management. Accordingly, the aim of this study is to evaluate employees' self-talk behavior in an organizational context within the framework of self-regulation theory and to systematically examine the literature on the impact of these processes on work outcomes and job performance. This study, aiming to reveal how the concept of self-talk is addressed in the management and business literature, examines prominent theoretical and empirical research on the subject within the framework of self-regulation theory by reviewing leading academic databases (Web of Science, Scopus, EBSCO, Google Scholar). When evaluated within the context of self-regulation theory, it has been concluded that self-talk is an important cognitive tool that enables employees in organizations to cope with intense work demands, maintain their performance, and manage their emotions. This study aims to fill a significant gap in the literature by offering theoretical and methodological suggestions to researchers who wish to examine self-talk in an organizational context.

The Genealogy of Haptic Theory in Art History from Tactile Perception to the Crisis of Vision

This study aims to construct a genealogy of the concept of the haptic in art history and visual culture theory and to test this theoretical legacy in the context of screen-based, touch-driven visual culture. The line traced in the study comprises five moments: Alois Riegl's tactile/optical distinction, Walter Benjamin's analysis of tactile reception, Gilles Deleuze's conception of haptic vision, Maurice Merleau-Ponty's phenomenology of the intertwining of vision and touch, and Laura U. Marks's theory of haptic visuality. The study is entirely theoretical. It relies on conceptual-historical reading together with genealogical and comparative analysis. The inquiry yields two findings. First, the haptic cannot be reduced to a single definition. The concept shifts in meaning from a formal category of perception to a metaphysics of sensation, then to a mode of spectatorship, and finally to an interface practice. Second, the touchscreen both confirms and inverts this legacy. As the eye-hand-screen relation becomes physical, haptic vision acquires a literal meaning. Yet this literalization of the concept suspends its critical force against ocularcentrism. The contemporary yield of the concept is to be sought at the thresholds where the interface falters and the image degrades. Constructing this line as a whole in Turkish scholarship, the study proposes an embodied and sensory axis for image-centered visual culture analysis.
