Abstract
Bu makale heykeltıraş, ressam ve performans sanatçısı Niki de Saint Phalle’in Nana heykellerini konu almaktadır. Niki de Saint Phalle, erkek egemen toplumda kadınlara biçilen rollere tepki olarak üretmiştir eserlerini. Sanatçının kendi yaşam öyküsüyle de ilişkilenen eserlerinin ana konusu, kadınlar ve kadınların toplumsal rolleridir. Niki de Saint Phalle’in sanat hayatının ilk döneminde ürettiği resim ve asamblajları, 1960’lı yıllarda ürettiği Nana heykellerinin temelini oluşturmuştur. Bu makalede öncelikle Niki de Saint Phalle’in kısa yaşam öyküsü daha sonra ilk sanatsal üretimleri ve Nana heykellerinin incelenmesi yapılmaktadır. Böylece sanat tarihi içinde önemli bir yere sahip olan Niki de Saint Phalle’in, dünyanın çeşitli ülkelerinde kamusal alanda da yer alan Nana heykellerinin, sanatçının yaşam öyküsü ve içinde yaşadığı toplumsal konularla olan ilişkisi ortaya çıkmaktadır.

Abstract
The subject of this article is the Nana sculptures of the sculptor, painter and performance artist Niki de Saint Phalle. Niki de Saint Phalle is known to have produced her works as a reaction to the social roles assigned to women in a male-dominant society. The main subject of Niki de Saint Phalle’s works, which are also influenced by her own life story, is women and women’s various social roles. The earlier paintings and assemblages of Niki de Saint Phalle lay the foundation of the Nana sculptures she produced in the 1960’s. In this article, first we take a brief look at the life story of Niki de Saint Phalle. Next, the first artistic works and Nana sculptures of Niki de Saint Phalle are examined. This way the relationships among Niki de Saint Phalle’s Nana sculptures, which are also situated in public areas in various countries, the artist’s life story and the societal issues of her time are revealed.
