Abstract
Bir dine inanma düşüncesi, insanlık tarihi kadar eskidir. Allah’ın elçi olarak görevlendirdiği peygamberlerin tebliğ ettiği bütün ilahi dinlerin ortak adı İslam’dır. Ancak son peygamber Hz. Muhammed’den önceki peygamberlerin tebliğ ettiği din ya kaybolmuş ya da tahrif edilmiştir. Herhangi bir değişikliğe maruz kalmadan günümüze kadar gelen tek ilahi din İslam dinidir. İslam dini, ferdi ve toplumu bütün yönleriyle koruyan, problemlerini çözen temel bazı ilkelere sahiptir. İslam dini, tevhit düşüncesine dayanır. Allah’ın gönderdiği elçiler arasında ayırım yapmaz. İfrat ve tefritten uzak, insanın fıtri yapısına uygundur. Getirdiği mesajlar bütün insanlığa hitap eder. Alanı içerisinde yer vermek sureti ile akıl-vahiy dengesine önem verir. Baskı ve şiddeti değil, barış ve sevgiyi önceler. İnsanın hem dünyada hem de ahirette mutlu bir hayat sürmesi için dünya-ahiret dengesini korur. İnanç ilkelerini belirlerken kesin delillere dayanır. İslam dini insanlığa hizmet eden birçok ilkeye sahip olmasına rağmen günümüzde bazı dış çevreler, İslam dinin temel insani değerlerden yoksun, anarşi ve teröre kaynaklık eden bir din olarak lanse etmeye çalışmaktalar. Makale, İslam dinin sahip olduğu bazı temel ilkeleri izah etmeye çalışarak İslam dini hakkına da oluşturulmaya çalışılan olumsuz algının yanlışlığına işaret etmeyi amaçlamıştır.

Abstract
The idea of believing in a religion is as old as human history. Common name of all divine religions conveyed by the prophets appointed by God as messengers is Islam. However, the religion preached by the prophets before the last prophet Muhammad was either lost or corrupted. Islam is the only divine religion that has survived without any change. Islam has some basic principles that protect individuals and society in all aspects and solve their problems. The religion of Islam is based on the idea of tawhid. It does not distinguish between the messengers sent by God. It is free from exaggerations and is suitable for human nature. The messages it brings appeal to all humanity. It gives importance to the balance of reason-revelation by giving it a place in its field. It prioritizes peace and love, not oppression and violence. It maintains the balance between this world and the hereafter so that a person can lead a happy life both in this world and in the hereafter. It is based on conclusive evidences in determining the principles of belief. Although Islam has many principles that serve humanity, some external circles are trying to portray Islam as a religion that lacks basic human values and is a source of anarchy and terror. By trying to explain some of the basic principles of Islam, the article aims to point out falsity of the negative perception that is tried to be created towards Islam.
