Abstract
Gezgin/seyyah notları tarihin farklı dönemlerine tanıklık etmiş belge niteliğindedir. Tarihin farklı dönemlerinde gittiği yeri, şehri, köyü döndüğü mekandakilere anlatma ihtiyacından dolayı farklı anlatı biçimleri üretilmiştir. Bunlardan en yaygın olanı ise gezgin notları, seyahatnamelerdir. Tüccar, seyyah ve elçilerin gitiiği mekanlara ilişkin yazmış oldukları tarihi belge işlevi görmekle birlikte, kendi döneminde başka gezgin, tüccar ve elçileri günümüz turisti gibi seyahate teşvik etmekte, yönlendirmekteydi. Bu anlamda araştırma kapsamında seyahatnamelerin özellikleri incelenirken, Bakü şehrinin farklı dönemlerde gezgin, tüccar ve elçilerin notlarındaki tasvir biçimi incelenmiştir. Nitel araştırmanın doküman/metin analizi yöntemi ile, şehri tanımlarken kullanılan ifadeler doğrultusunda inşa edilen Bakü imajının nasıl oluşturulduğu analiz edilmiştir.

Abstract
Traveler’s notes are witnessed documents to different periods of history. Various narrative formsa re produced for the need to tell the people in the destionation traveller returned to location, city, village where he went.The most common of these are traveller’s notes,travelogues. What the merchants travellers and ambassadors wrote about the destinations they went although they are served as a historical documents, in their own time, they emboldened and directed other travellers, merchants, ambassadors, to travel as nowday’s tourists. In this sense, when analysing travelogues in the scope of the research especially, the depiction of the city of Baku has been analyzied in the travellers,merchants and ambassadors’notes in dissimiliar periods. It has been analyzied how to image of Baku, built in line with the evidences used to define the city is created withal the document/text analysis method of qualitative research.
