Engelli Kimlik Yaklaşımları Açısından 20. Yüzyıldan Günümüze Türkiye’de Görme Engelli Müzisyenler: Selim Kerim Altınok Örneği

Abstract

Bu araştırmada, engelli bireylerin toplumsal yaşam ve kimlik mücadeleleri bakımından görme engelli müzisyenlerin rolünün incelenmesi esas alınmıştır. Bu doğrultuda, 20. Yüzyıldan günümüze müzik ve sosyal bilim alanlarında başarıları ile toplumsal dönüşüm ve farkındalık kültürüne dokunan görme engelli müzisyenlerin sağladığı değerler üzerinde durulmuştur. Altınok kardeşler, bu çalışmanın örneklemini oluşturmuştur. Bunun dışında, 20. Yüzyıla damgasını vurmuş diğer ünlü görme engelli müzisyenlerin de empati kültürünün geliştirilmesine ve kimlik mücadelesi bakımından görme engellilerin yaşamsal stratejilerine getirdiği kazanımlar önemli görülmüştür. Araştırmamızda, kimlik inşası bakımından gerekli teorik ve sosyolojik bakışa dair lüteratür değerlendirmesi yapılarak, görme engelli müzisyenlerin sokaktan akademiye uzanan düzlemde toplum hayatının çağdaşlaşması ve engelli bireylerin daha eşit ve farkındalıklı bir toplumla birlikte yoluna devam etmeleri önemli bir sonuç olarak nitelendirilmiştir. Yapılan değerlendirmeler sonucunda, eğitim faktörünün engellilerin toplumsal entegrasyonu açısından önemli bir işlevi olduğu düşünülerek, görme engelli müzisyenlerin bu doğrultuda önemli ve bütünleştirici bir rol üstlendikleri sonucu elde edilmiştir.  Bu bakımdan, görme engelliler okullarının, dernek vb. Sivil toplum kuruluşlarının da işlevsel bir değer yaratığına referansla, 20. Yüzyıldan günümüze güzel işler başarmış görme engelli kimselerin, ya okul ya da dernek gibi toplumsal yapılardan beslendikleri ve bu kollektif bilincin ise, aydiyet duygusunun geliştirilmesinde ve farkındalık kültürünün yaygınlaştırılmasında önem taşıdığı düşünülmüştür.

Araştırma, kaynak tarama yöntemine ve Altınok kardeşlerle yapılan kişisel görüşme verilerine dayanılarak gerçekleştirilmiştir.

Abstract

This research Is primarily based on examining the role of visually impaired musicians in terms of social life and identity struggles of disabled people. In this direction, it is emphasized the values provided by visually impaired musicians who have touched the culture of social transformation and awareness with their achievements in the fields of music and social science from the 20th century to the present. Altınok brothers are the sample to be represented of this study. On the other hand, other famous visually impaired musicians who left a legacy with their vision on the 20th century, have also seen important gains in the development of empathy culture and the vital strategies of the visually impaired in terms of identity struggle. In our research, by literature review on the theoretical and sociological perspective required in terms of identity construction, have been characterized as an important result the modernization of the social life of visually impaired musicians from the street to the academy and the continuation of the disabled individuals on their way with a more equal and awareness society. As a result of the evaluations, it was concluded that the visually impaired musicians assumed an important and integrative role in this direction, considering that the education factor has an important function in terms of the social integration of the disabled people. In this regard, schools for the visually impaired, or associations, etc. have risponsibled to created very important values with reference to the functional of their society. İt is thought that visually impaired people who have accomplished with their oqupational experiences from the 20th century to the present are utilized either by school or by social structures such as associations, and this collective consciousness is important in developing the sense of awareness and disseminating awareness culture.

The research was carried out based on the literature review method and personal interview data with the Altınok brothers.
