Abstract
Özünü insanın oluşturduğu nüfus ve göç olgusu, sosyal bilimlerin önemli çalışma alanları içinde yer almaktadır. Her iki olgu da tarih boyunca toplumları her açıdan şekillendirici bir etkiye sahip olmuşlardır. Çeşitli nedenlerle, yer değiştirme amaçlı oluşan nüfus hareketlilikleri, göç olarak tanımlanmaktadır. Tarım devrimi ve Sanayi devrimi ile görülen nüfus artışları, göçlerdeki artışı da beraberinde getirmiştir. İnsanlığın her döneminde var olan nüfus hareketlilikleri, günümüzün sanayileşmiş ve küreselleşmiş dünyasında da artarak devam etmiş ve belli bölgelerde yoğunlaşmıştır. Dünyadaki sanayileşme süreci, Osmanlı Devleti’nin son dönemlerindeki nüfus yapısının şekillenmesinde de belirgin bir rol oynamıştır. Bu dönemde çeşitli itici ve çekici faktörün etkisiyle Osmanlı Devleti hem göç alan hem de göç veren bir ülke konumunda olmuştur. Yurtdışından ülkeye yapılan göçlerin, ülkeden yurtdışına yönelen göçlere göre daha yoğun olduğu bilinmektedir. Bu çalışmada, Osmanlı Devleti’nden Latin Amerika ülkelerine yapılan göçlerin incelenmesi hedeflenmiştir. Oldukça uzak olan bir kıtaya göçme tercihinin nedenleri, nerelere göç edildiği, yerleşme sonrasındaki durumlar, göç edilen ülkelerin ve Osmanlı Devleti’nin bu göçlere yaklaşımlarının nasıl olduğu gibi soruların cevapları aranmaya çalışılmıştır.

Abstract
The phenomenon of population and migration, the essence of which is formed by man is among the important study areas of social sciences. Both phenomena have had a shaping effect on societies in every aspect throughout history. For various reasons, population movements that occur for the purpose of displacement are defined as migration. The population increases seen with the agricultural revolution and the industrial revolution have also brought about an increase in migration. Population movements that have existed in every period of humanity have continued increasingly in today's industrialized and globalized world and have concentrated in certain regions. The industrialization process in the world has also played a significant role in shaping the population structure in the recent periods of the Ottoman Empire. In this period, with the influence of various repulsive and attractive factors, the Ottoman Empire was in the position of a country that both received migration and gave migration. It is known that the migrations made from abroad to the country are more intense than the migrations directed from the country to abroad. In this study, it is aimed to examine the migrations made from the Ottoman Empire to Latin American countries. The reasons for the preference to migrate to a continent that is quite remote, where they migrated to, the situations after settlement, how the emigrated countries and the Ottoman Empire’s approach to these migrations were tried to find answers to questions such as.
