Abstract
Bu araştırmanın amacı; ilk okuma ve yazma eğitimlerinde yaşanılan sorunların tespit edilmesi ve sınıf öğretmenlerinin bu sorunlara çözüm önerileri getirmesini sağlamaktır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu Samsun ilinin 3 büyük merkez ilçesinde çalışan 9 sınıf öğretmeni oluşturmaktadır. Veri toplama da literatür taramasının yanında yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu kullanılmıştır. Görüşme formundan elde edilen veriler betimsel analiz yoluyla düzenlenmiştir. Araştırma bulgularına göre; öğrencilerin devamsızlık yapması, ders kitaplarının yetersizliği, sınıfların kalabalık olması ve okula başlama yaşındaki son düzenlemenin öğrencilerin okuma ve yazma öğrenmesini güçleştirdiği sonucu ortaya çıkmıştır. Çalışmaya katılan bazı öğretmenler bu sorunların yanında okuma ve yazma öğretmede kullanılan önce seslerin, daha sonra hece ve kelimelerin öğretilmesi yönteminin de sorunlara yol açtığını ifade etmiştir. Bu sorunlara çözüm olarak katılımcı öğretmenler; okula başlama yaşının en az 6 yıl olması, öğrencilerin devamsızlık yapmasını engellemek için kanunda geçen cezai işlemlerin uygulanması, ders kitaplarının içerik olarak zenginleştirilmesi, sınıf mevcutlarının 24 öğrenciyi geçmemesi ve öğrenci aileleriyle ilgili eğitimler verilmesi gerektiğini belirtmiştir

The purpose of this research is to determine the problems experienced in the first reading and writing education and to provide primary school teachers with solutions to these problems. The study group of the research consists of 9 primary school teachers working in 3 big central districts of Samsun. In addition to the literature review, a semi-structured interview form has been used for data collection. The data obtained from the interview form have been organized through descriptive analysis. According to the research findings, it has been concluded that the students' absenteeism, inadequacy of textbooks and crowded classrooms, and the latest regulation of the school starting age made it difficult for students to learn to read and write. Some teachers who have participated in the study have stated that, in addition to these problems, the method of teaching sounds first and then teaching syllables and words while teaching reading and writing also caused problems. As a solution to these problems, participating teachers have stated that the school starting age should be at least 6, criminal actions in the law should be taken to prevent students from being absent, the content of the course books should be enriched, the class size should not exceed 24 students and training should be provided for the families of the students. |
