Abstract
Piyano 18.yüzyılda keşfedilmiş bir enstrüman olup tüm dünyada kullanılmaktadır. Eğitim repertuarı da aynı şekilde son derece yaygındır. Piyanoyu çalma konusunda farklı ülkelerde çeşitli ekoller oluşmuştur. Günümüzde çalınan piyanonun Türk topraklarına gelişi Osmanlı İmparatorluğunda 19.yüzyılda olmuştur. Sarayda padişahlardan başlayarak şehzadeler, sultanlar Avrupa’dan getirtilen eğitmenlerden ders almışlardır. Sonrasında ülkenin eğitimli aileleri de çocuklarına piyano dersi aldırmaya başlamışlardır. Özellikle İstanbul’da yüzyılın sonunda piyano eğitmeni sayısı oldukça artmıştır. Cumhuriyetin kuruluşu ile açılan konservatuar ve Muallim Mektebi ile piyano eğitimi kurumsallaşmıştır. Bugüne geldiğimizde sayıları 100’ü geçen okulumuzda piyano eğitimi verilmektedir. Bu okullar Konservatuarlar, Güzel Sanatlar Liseleri, Müzik Fakülteleri/Bölümleridir. Piyano eğitimine dün olduğu gibi bugün de ilgi oldukça fazladır.

Abstract
The piano is an instrument invented in the 18th century and is used all over the world. The educational repertoire is also extremely widespread. Various schools have emerged in different countries about playing the piano. The arrival of the contemporary piano in Turkish lands was in the 19th century in the Ottoman Empire. Starting from the sultans in the palace, the princess and sultans took lessons from the educators brought from Europe. Afterwards, educated families of the country started to have their children take piano lessons. Especially in Istanbul, the number of piano instructors increased considerably at the end of the century. With the founding of the Republic, the conservatory and the Teacher's School became institutionalized. Today, number of piano education schools given more than 500. These schools are conservatories, Fine Arts High Schools, Music Faculties/Departments. There is a great deal of interest in piano education today as it was yesterday.
