Abstract
Asya bozkırı tarih boyunca birçok hükümdara ev sahipliği yapmış bir coğrafyaydı. Bunlardan biri de Emir Timur olacaktı. Cengiz Han soyunun ve yasalarının hâkim olduğu Çağatay topraklarında doğmuştu. İslam inancı ve Türk geleneklerine bağlı yetiştirildi. Moğol hâkimiyetinin yoğun olduğu bu topraklarda Türkmenlerin ezilmesine razısı yoktu. Netice olarak Moğol yöneticisi İlyas Hoca’nın yönetiminden kaçmıştı. Kayınbiraderi Emir Hüseyin ile beraber büyük badireler atlatmış, girdiği mücadelelerin birinde yaralanıp bacağı aksak kalmıştı. Emir Hüseyin ile birlikte her şeye sıfırdan başlayarak bir devlet kurmayı başarmışlardı. Fakat siyasetin çirkin yüzü kendini göstermiş, kayınbiraderi ile ters düşmüştü. Aralarında mücadeleye girişmişler ve sonra milletin selameti, devletin bekası için üzülse de Emir Hüseyin'in öldürülmesine razı olmak zorunda kalmıştı.
Türkistan merkezli bir devlet kuran Emir Timur Semerkant’ı bilim merkezi haline getirmeye uğraştı. Yine bir sefer sırasında kendisine evlat gibi sığınan Toktamış’a sahip çıkmış, Urus Han'la savaşı göze almıştı. Altın Ordu Devleti’nden kaçan mirza ve şehzadelere sahip çıktı ve merkezi yönetim aleyhine onları destekledi. Böylelikle kendi devletine komşu olan güçlü bir devlet yerine iç mücadelelerinin yaşandığı bir devlet oluşuyordu. Dolayısıyla da fethi kolay olacaktı. Bu yüzden Toktamış’ı her seferinde desteklemiş Altın Ordu hükümdarı olmasını sağlamıştı. Güçlü bir devlet kuran Toktamış Han, Timur’un egemenlik alanındaki topraklara saldırdı. Timur, önce bu duruma göz yumsa da şartların olgunlaşmasıyla birlikte, iki kere savaşarak ordusunu dağıtıp onu kaçmaya mecbur bırakıp yurdunu da talan etti.
Daha sonra ise Toktamış Han’a karşı olan mirzaları ona karşı kışkırtıp desteklemiştir. Bu durum eski güçlü ve toprak bütünlüğü sağlanmış Altın Ordu’nun oluşma ihtimalini ortadan kaldırdı. Çok sonraları Timur, güçlenen Edigey’e karşı Toktamış’a destek sözü verse de Çin’e sefere giderken vefatı buna engel olmuştu.

Abstract
The Asian steppe was home to many rulers throughout history. One of them will be Emir Timur. He was born in Çağatay, where Cengiz Khan’s lineage and laws were dominant. He was raised in accordance with the Islamic faith and Turkish traditions. He would not consent to the oppression of the Turkmen in these lands where Mongolian domination was intense. As a result, he escaped from the guidance of the Mongol ruler İlyas Hoca. Together with his brother-in-law, Emir Hussein, he survived great hardships, and his leg was left limp during the struggles. Together with Emir Hussein, they had succeeded in establishing a state where every machine originated from scratch. However, the ugly side of politics showed itself, at odds with his brother-in-law. The crowd started to fight and then the nation’s welfare and the ruler had to settle for the champions of Emir Hussein, even though he was sad for his survival.
Emir Timur, who established a Turkestan-based state, tried to become the center of Samarkand’ science. During another campaign, he took shelter of Toktamış, who took shelter in him like a son, and watched the war with Urus Khan. He took care of the mirzas and princes fleeing from the Altın Ordu State and supported them against the central government. Instead of a strong state neighboring to its own state, a state with internal struggles would be formed. So it will be easy to conquer. For this reason, he supported Toktamış every time and ensured the dominance of the Altın Ordu. Toktamış Khan, who established a strong state, attacked the lands under Timur’s sovereignty. Although Timur turned a blind eye to this situation before, with the continuation of the rules, he broke up his operation by fighting twice, forcing him to flee, and plundered his homeland.
Later, he provoked and supported the mirzas against Toktamış Khan against him. This situation eliminated the possibility of the emergence of the old strong and territorially integrated Altın Ordu. Much later, Timur’s promise of support to Toktamış against Edigey, who got stronger, was prevented by his death while he was going on a campaign to China.
