Abstract
Havacılık endüstrisi geçtiğimiz dönemde tarihindeki en büyük krizlerden biriyle yüzleşmiştir. 2020 yılında tüm dünyayı kapanmaya iten COVİD-19 salgını ülkelerin virüsün yayılmasını engellemek adına aldığı kapanmalar etkisiyle üretim ve tedarik zinciri sorunlarına sebep olmuştur. Birçok endüstride yaşanan krizler kırılgan olan havacılık endüstrisinde yıkıcı bir etki bırakmıştır. Havayolu sektörü daha önceden yaşanan 11 Eylül olayları, SARS pandemisi veya 2008 ekonomik krizi gibi olaylardan daha yıkıcı bir süreçten geçmiştir. Kapatılan sınırlar, seyahat kısıtlamaları ve sosyal izolasyon politikaları havacılık endüstrisini büyük bir darboğaza sokmuştur. Bu dönemde havayolu şirketleri uçakları yere indirmiş ve uçuşlarını durdurmaya veya azaltmaya gitmiştir. Yolcu taşımacılığı yapamayan havayolları masraflarını kesemediği için pandemi döneminde rekor zararlar açıklamıştır. Bu dönemde yolcu taşımacılığında yaşanan gelişmelerin aksine hava kargo endüstrisi farklı yönde gelişmeler yaşamıştır. Ülkeler tıbbi ekipman ve aşı gibi acil taşınması gereken yüklerin etkisiyle hava kargo faaliyetlerini sürdürebilmeyi sağlamıştır. Bunlara ek olarak her geçen gün gelişen e-ticaret hızlı ve güvenilir taşımacılık hizmeti sunan hava kargo sektörüne olan talebin artmasına sebep olmuştur. Yaşanan gelişmeler sayesinde hava kargo sektörü havayolu endüstrisi için zararlarını hafifletmek adına önemli bir faktör olmuştur. Bu çalışmada COVİD-19 sürecinin hava kargo endüstrisini nasıl etkilediği araştırılmıştır. Çalışmada ilk vakaların ortaya çıktığı 2019 yılından 2021 yılına kadar ki dönem ele alınmıştır. Yapılan araştırmada havacılık otoriteleri, havayolu şirketleri, havalimanı şirketleri ve uçak üreticilerinden elde edilen veriler kullanılmıştır. Yapılan araştırmada hava kargo sektörü pandemi döneminde yere indirilen uçakların etkisiyle oluşan kapasite sorunları yaşamasına rağmen gelişmeye devam ettiğini ve havayolu endüstrisi için her geçen gün daha önemli bir yer tuttuğu ortaya çıkmıştır.

Abstract
The aviation industry has recently faced one of the biggest crises in its history. The COVID-19 pandemic, which pushed the whole world to close in 2020, caused production and supply chain problems with the effect of the closures that countries took to prevent the spread of the virus. The crises experienced in many industries have had a devastating effect on the fragile aviation industry. The airline industry has gone through a more devastating period than previous events such as the events of September 11, the SARS pandemic or the 2008 economic crisis. Closed borders, travel restrictions and social isolation policies have brought the aviation industry to a big bottleneck. During this period, airline companies grounded the planes and stopped or reduced their flights. Airlines, which could not carry passengers, announced record losses during the pandemic period, as they could not cut their expenses. Contrary to the developments in passenger transportation in this period, the air cargo industry has experienced different developments. Countries have been able to sustain their air cargo activities with the effect of urgent cargoes such as medical equipment and vaccines. In addition, e-commerce, which is developing day by day, has led to an increase in the demand for the air cargo sector, which provides fast and reliable transportation services. Thanks to the developments experienced, the air cargo sector has become an important factor for the airline industry to mitigate its losses. In this study we investigated how the COVID-19 process affected the air cargo industry. In the study, the period from 2019, when the first cases appeared, to 2021 was discussed. Data obtained from aviation authorities, airline companies, airport companies and aircraft manufacturers were used in the research. In the research, it has been revealed that the air cargo sector continues to develop despite the capacity problems caused by the effect of the planes that are grounded during the pandemic period, and it has an increasingly important place for the airline industry.
