Orman Ürünleri Sanayi Sektöründe Çalışanların İş Sağlığı ve Güvenliği Bağlamında Kişisel Koruyucu Donanım Farkındalıklarının İncelenmesine Yönelik Bir Alan Çalışması

Abstract
Çalışmada orman ürünleri sanayi sektöründe istihdam edilen çalışanların, iş sağlığı ve güvenliği bağlamında koruyucu donanım farkındalıklarının tespit edilmesi hedeflenmiştir. Bu amaçla Bolu - Düzce illerinde orman ürünleri sanayi sektörü alanında faaliyet gösteren 13 firmada (5 adet mobilya, 4 adet kereste, 2 adet levha, 2 adet kağıt) çalışan 371 katılımcı ile anket çalışması yapılmıştır. Elde edilen istatistiki veriler analiz edilerek, sonuçlar ortaya konulmuştur. Buna göre, “koruyucu donanım farkındalığı” ile demografik özelliklerden “eğitim durumu”, “yaş”, “iş tecrübesi”, “işletmenin faaliyet alanı”, “cinsiyet” ile farkındalıklar tespit edilmiştir. Bununla birlikte, “bu iş yerinde çalışma süreniz nedir?”, “medeni durum” ve “hiç iş kazası geçirdiniz mi?” ifadeleri analizinde ise herhangi bir farkındalık tespit edilmemiştir.
Kişisel koruyucu donanımlar iş kazası ve meslek hastalıklarının vehametini azaltmada başvurulan en önemli önemlerden biridir. Başka bir ifadeyle, kişisel koruyucu donanımlar iş kazası anında çalışanların göreceği zararı ortadan kaldırır veya büyük oranda azaltıcı rol üstlenir. Alan çalışması yapılan bölgedeki iş kazası oranının yüksek düzeyde olması nedeniyle kişisel koruyucu donanımların çalışanlar tarafından farkındalık düzeyleri önem arz etmektedir.
Kişisel koruyucu donanım farkındalığı tespiti kapsamında yapılan bu çalışma sonuç ve analizlerine göre, katılımcıların demografik özelliklerinde görülen yüksek katılım, çalışanların koruyucu donanım bilinci ve farkındalığına sahip olduğunu göstermekle birlikte, alan çalışması kapsamındaki iş kaza oranlarının yüksek seviyede olması, spesifik eğitim faaliyetleri ile iş sağlığı ve güvenliği kültürü oluşturacak çalışmaların yapılması gerektiğini ortaya çıkarmıştır.

Abstract
In the study, it was aimed to determine the awareness of protective equipment in the context of occupational health and safety of employees employed in the forest products industry sector. For this purpose, a survey study was conducted with 371 participants working in 13 companies (5 furniture, 4 lumber, 2 sheet, 2 paper) operating in the field of forest products industry sector in Bolu - Düzce provinces. The statistical data obtained were analyzed and the results were revealed. Accordingly, the ”protective equipment awareness“ and the ”education status“, ”age“, ”work experience“, ”field of activity of the enterprise“ and ”gender" were determined from the demographic characteristics. However, “what is your working time at this workplace?”, ”marital status“ and "have you ever been in a workplace accident?” in the analysis of the statements, no awareness was detected.
Personal protective equipment is one of the most important importance applied in reducing the severity of occupational accidents and occupational diseases. In other words, personal protective equipment eliminates the damage that employees will see during a workplace accident or assumes a greatly reducing role. Due to the high level of occupational accident rate in the region where the field study was conducted, the level of awareness of personal protective equipment by employees is important.
According to the results and analyses of this study conducted within the scope of personal protective equipment awareness detection, the high participation seen in the demographic characteristics of the participants indicates that employees have awareness and awareness of protective equipment, but the high level of occupational accident rates within the scope of the field study revealed that studies should be carried out to create an occupational health and safety culture with specific training activities.
